About the TFAT

How it all works: joining, points, tiers, wipes, Prestige, and the rules.

About

The TFAT (The Friend Alliance Treaty) started in 2021 as a pact between friends who game together, and it's grown into a Discord server with its own points, tiers, and rules. The idea has stayed the same the whole time: a group where nobody is toxic or out to hurt anyone, so you can just play and hang out.

What to Expect

The TFAT is meant to feel like a safe, close group of friends. You earn points, climb tiers, and play with everyone else in the Treaty.

The rules aren't there to silence anyone. They're there to keep drama, sensitive topics, and bullying out, so everyone can actually enjoy themselves.

Speaking Regulations

We speak English in the TFAT, whether that's in the channels, in game, or on socials, so nobody gets left out.

The one exception: if you're talking or playing with someone who speaks the same language as you, you can use it with them.

Who Staff Are

Server Reconcilers accept new members, handle points and support tickets, and answer questions. Server Officers lead the staff team. If a Reconciler hasn't sorted your issue within 48 hours, an Officer can step in.

Staff will never ask you for money or a trade in return for points, tiers, or anything else. If a staff member sends you something sketchy or acts weird, don't click it, and let us know.

Joining

Anyone can apply, you don't need to know someone here already. Staff read every application, and if you're accepted you'll still go through a short acceptance process once you join the Discord.

How to Apply

You can apply here. It only takes a Discord sign in and a few quick questions about what you play, when you're usually on, and what you're looking for in a friend group.

Ages 13 to 21+ can apply.

After You Apply

An Application Status button shows up at the top, so you can check on it any time. We usually decide within a week, and the bell at the top lets you know when we do.

Changed your mind? You can withdraw your application from the Application Status page for 5 hours after you send it.

If You're Accepted

Your invite to the Discord will be waiting on your Application Status page. It only works once and runs out after 7 days, so if you don't join in time you'll have to apply again. Don't share it: if someone else uses it, it's gone and you'll have to apply again.

Once you join with it, you're a member right away and start at Tier 0.

If You're Not Accepted

You can try again after 30 days. The Application Status page shows the exact date you can apply again.

Points

Points are how everything works in the TFAT. You earn them every day, spend them in the Store to move up tiers, and lose them if you break the Point Structure. Points replaced the old hours system, so climbing is up to you. Nobody has to hang out for hours to move up.

Daily Rewards

You can claim a reward in the Discord once every 24 hours. The higher your tier, the more you get.

Tier 0 to Tier IIII100 pts / day
Tier Bronze to Tier Diamond200 pts / day
Tier PristineNo daily reward

Streak Bonuses

Claim every day to build a streak. Reach 7 or 14 days and you get a one-time bonus on top of your normal reward. Miss a day and your streak starts over.

7-day streak+200 pts
14-day streak+300 pts

Spending Points

You spend points in the Store in Discord to buy your next tier. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to, your points stay saved until the next wipe.

Once points are spent they're gone, there are no refunds. The only exception is if someone else spent them on your account.

Limits

You can hold up to 10,000 points. Once you hit that, spend some in the Store before claiming more.

Losing points for breaking an Article can never take you below 0.

Tiers

Everyone starts at Tier 0 when they're accepted. You buy tiers from the Store with points, one at a time and in order, so no skipping. Higher tiers get bigger daily rewards, so climbing early pays off. Every tier can be bought as soon as you have the points, except Tier Pristine, the top tier, which also has the requirements below.

Prices change every wipe. The prices below are the defaults, set for a normal 3 month (90 day) cycle. If the next cycle is longer, prices go up a bit, and if it's shorter, they go down. The Store in Discord always shows the real price.
🌑 Tier 0 Where everyone starts

Wipes

What a Wipe Is

About every 3 months the TFAT has a server wipe. Everyone's tier and points reset, and we all start climbing again.

The next wipe date is always in the status channel in Discord, and you'll get a warning 7 days before.

Before a Wipe

Everyone starts the new cycle at Tier 0 with 0 points, whether you joined years ago or last week. What carries over is your progress toward Tier Pristine: reach Tier Bronze or higher before the wipe and it counts as a wipe survived.

You have to be in the server at the time of the wipe for it to count, or to earn Prestige. Terminated members aren't affected by wipes.

Prestige

How Prestige Works

If you're Tier Pristine when a wipe hits, you earn a Prestige level. Your tier and points go back to 0 like everyone else's and your wipe count is cleared, then you climb back up to Pristine again.

Prestige roles are yours for good. Each level adds 1 to the wipes you need before you can buy Pristine again, so every level is harder than the last.

Prestige Levels

There are four levels, and Elite Prestiger is the last one. Wipes after that still reset you, but you keep the title.

Prestige IAfter 1st cycle
Prestige IIAfter 2nd cycle
Prestige IIIAfter 3rd cycle
👑 Elite PrestigerAfter 4th cycle

Starting Over

Members with a Prestige level can use Reset Progress in the Store for a completely fresh start. It takes you back to Tier 0 with 0 points and removes your Prestige level and wipe history, so only use it if that's really what you want.

Rules

The TFAT's rules are called the Point Structure, also known as the Point Alliance System. It's a list of rules called Articles. Each one says what isn't okay and how many points it costs if you do it. A few are serious enough that they skip points and end in termination. It only applies between TFAT members, and the Articles change just once a year, on January 1st (HST).

How it works, with an example

Say there's an Article that costs 200 points, and you break it. Staff take 200 points off your balance. That's it, you keep your tier and carry on.

If that Article is marked MRV, any member who saw it and has proof can report it in a support ticket. Staff look at what happened before deciding anything.

The Point Structure

Reading an Article

Every Article tells you three things: what isn't okay, what it costs, and whether it's MRV.

Some cost a set number of points. Some cost a range, so staff can go lower or higher depending on how serious it was. A few just say Varies, meaning staff decide based on what happened.

Termination Articles

The most serious Articles don't cost points at all. Breaking one ends in termination right away, no matter how many points you have or how clean your history is.

They're there for things that put members at real risk, and they're listed separately so they're easy to spot.

Reporting (MRV)

MRV stands for Member Report Verified. Articles marked MRV can be reported by any member who has proof.

To report, open a support ticket in the Discord and include who it was, which Article they broke, when it happened, and your proof.

Context Matters

The TFAT is about gaming and friendship, and jokes, banter, and dark humor are part of that. No Article is applied without looking at the full context: what happened, how well the people involved know each other, and whether anyone was actually uncomfortable.

The point is to protect members, not to punish anyone for having a good time. Not sure if something crosses a line? Ask staff.

The full list of Articles is in the Discord, for members only.

Terminations and Appeals

Termination

For breaking the Point Structure or general bad behavior. How long it lasts depends on how many you've had this year, and the count resets every January 1st.

1st offense2 months
2nd offense6 months
3rd offense12 months

When it ends you're brought back at Tier I with your points reset, and you can't use the Store for 10 days.

Ruling Termination

For when enough members agree someone shouldn't be in the TFAT anymore. If you think someone needs to go, open a support ticket and say why. Once enough members have asked, the owner removes them with a Ruling Termination. It always lasts 12 months, no matter their history.

When it ends you're put back to Pending and have to go through acceptance again from the start.

Appeals

If you think your termination wasn't fair, you can send an appeal from the terminated channel in Discord. Staff read appeals in private.

You'll only hear back if your appeal is accepted, and if it is, you're brought back. You can send one appeal every 30 days.

Your account is your responsibility. Whoever is using it, anything done on your account counts as you. The only exception is points: if someone else spends yours without you knowing, you'll get them back.

That's everything. Ready to join?
